~ Beginnings ~

Dolphin’s Pass is a place where only cetaceans know of. As the seasons changed, so do the waters. The lack of prey has changed the lives of many a whale and dolphin. Many pods have set aside their differences in order to survive- transients and residents, as well ass different species of cetaceans travel together at times. However, A pod of misfits desires to dominate the oceans, as well as every pod, who crosses their path. However what choice will you make: Will you try to control the Seas? Or fight for peace, while trying to survive? Photobucket

It is early morning, The sun has risen and the sky is a soft pink color. The waters are calm. In the distance a pod swims near, one of the members suddenly breaks from the pod formation and slowly swims away from the pod. He turns back toward the pod once more as if saying farewell...He then begins to swim to the calm waters, as his pod slowly swims away.. Now the journey has ended for this pod member. After many years of travel it is his time to finally rest.

(this is where you can "kill off" an unwanted Cetacean.or start your own pod or pass through as you make your journey)

The depths of the ocean become darker as a lone whale swims deeper from the royal blue into the blackness known to him as" the danger zone". He uses his echolocation as his eyes seem to fail him in the darkness. He stops moving as soon as he hears a loud sound, another whale; but he is unable to identify the other creature. His echolocation picks up something much larger than him, it is bigger than any whale he has ever seen.

The colossal creature passes within inches of him, the eye and body of the creature is huge. As the creature slowly glides by, he is startled by something else. Suddenly the creature swim away. The familiar sound he heard once before is louder and closer. The whale identifies the other whale as it swims past him, possibly hunting the creature he swam before. The whale realizes he needs to return to the surface and swims back towards the surface. As he breaks the surface he notices a dark figure under him a very large shark. This is when he begins to notice that he has survived the "Danger Zone" .. but next time may not be so lucky..

(you can continue one as passing through or another cetacean swimming in the abyss)

The waters of the cove were cool this time of year, Humpback whales have been spotted passing through the waters. This was the time when the young seals take to the water, it was prime prey territory. Whales have been seen in gigantic pods offshore, feeding on both the fish and more recently, the young seals. It is rare to see so many generations together, but many have said that this is the place where reunions happen.

So much happens when the pods are together, calves meet others from their pods, while cousins play in the waves, competing on who can breach higher or swim faster.. such a spectacular sight to see. Especially one so rare..

(you can continue here as a lone whale or passing through with a calf or along with your pod)

It was early morning when things began to stir in the center. The humans were all talking and waited for a truck. Once it arrived, the back door opened. More humans came out of the truck, the others gathered around the open door and pulled out a sling. Inside the sling was a dolphin, he was injured and tired. The dolphin was found stranded on a sandbar, his injuries point to a shark attack.

The humans lowered him into the pool, one by one they got into the pool and walked the dolphin around. Out of nowhere he got the strength to move on his own. All but two of the humans left the pool. He swam around his new surroundings not sure what to make of it, he swam towards the gate and let out a whistled. He then heard a response on the other side of the gate, it was another dolphin. It was comforting to know that he was not alone.

(you can continue as the rescued dolphin or it's resident or the "Healer" of this animal.)

Miracles of Life in the Bay

With the rise of the morning sun, so does the appearance of new life in the bay. A mother has given birth to her expected calf during the late night. She felt the beginning pains of labor yesterday, as she swam towards the bay. Once she entered the bay, she was not alone, there were other females and calves, even some other expecting females. Some have begun their labor pains also. She swam through the warm waters and watched as another mother nuzzled her calf. She thought how wonderful it would be to soon nuzzle her own little calf.

She was scared for this was her first calf. But after she assisted two others during their deliveries, she knew she would not be alone through this. There in the moonlit waters, her pains were more frequent, she was delivering her calf. She called out in pain. another expactant mother came to her side and whistled to her, she used her pec and stroked the back of the laboring female. The comforting touch of the other female helped her as she continued the delivery. As the calf entered the water, her pain subsided. She pushed the calf towards the surface for its first breath.

With the calf's first breath the sun broke through the water. She vocalized softly to the calf and nuzzled him gently. Now it was her moment to bond with her new calf, as they both learn together.. as a family.

this is where your cetacean can be born or has come to give birth. Or maybe passing through or your a permenant resident of the bay.)

 The Guardians of Dolphins Pass
« Result #6 on Jul 10, 2009, 11:18pm »

Dolphin's pass is known as cetacean crossing. Many different species of whales and dolphins have been seen here, from the little whitesided dolphin, to the huge blue whales. Lots of humans come to see them, and the whales come here for the food among other things. they say that this is where the 'City of Atlantis' lies. The whales and dolphins that are spotted here, are the guardians. We may never know if this is true or not, but only those who swim through the depths know the truth.

 the family that stays together

Family pods have been seen throughout the ocean, whether dolphin or blue whale, each one travels with their family. It is rare to see a lone whale, unless it is lost or looking for a pod to call their own. Together a multi generation travels, grandmothers and their children, mothers and calves, sisters and brothers along with uncles, aunts and cousins Should one become hurt, the pod helps it survive. They work together to feed themselves and their family.. for a pod is a family built on the most important thing in a whale's life- Love.

 The Rescues
« Result #8 on Jul 10, 2009, 11:15pm »

The center was created by human who care enough to help those whales and dolphins who have been found injured or sick. Their purpose in life is to rescue, rehabilitate and release the animals found. Many have came and left back to their home, only a very few have not made it out due to their sickness or the injuries were to much for them to heal.

These rescues never forget how the humans have helped them, in turn they tell others of what has happened to them. Little by ltle the rescues have spread the word of the humans, who were once thought to be a huge threat, in turn came to be known as the "healers".

 Origin of the "Misfits"
« Result #10 on Jul 10, 2009, 11:12pm »
[Quote]

Legends say that there was a god who was struck down from the heavens and shunned into the ocean in the shape of a whale. This god was angered by those who turned against him, that he decided to control some of the ocean creatures. They say the leader of this pod is none other than a "demon fish", an Orca, with red eyes, a larger dorsal fin and a huge scar on his back which was created when he was struck down. This pod can be seen with many different species of whale and dolphins. Humans are warned to steer clear of this 'mistfit pod' for one never knows what they are capable of.
